We all remember where we were when MC Hammer’s “2 Legit 2 Quit” music video first debuted: Transfixed in front of our television sets. Many of us had to sit there because our parents couldn’t afford a remote control, and it was our job to change the channel. Some of us weren’t born yet, but we still remember that November day in 1991.

Following yesterday's "interview" with Kyle Scanlan, the editor and founder of The Whiskey Journal, on the website's redesign and relaunch, I awoke with my head still throbbing. Scanlan told me near the end of the "interview" -- before, I believe, I was knocked unconscious -- that they had a second announcement to make, and I assumed it would come today.
After I woke up, I went to dine at some fancy downtown restaurant for breakfast. I'm not going to name it, just understand it's real exclusive and they made me put on pants. Halfway through my meal, I got a note that the sous chef wanted to see me. I said I was busy, but the maître d' was insistent.

Kyle Scanlan & Andy Boyle talk Whiskey Journal re-launch
It all started yesterday. I was returning from my open mic, The Boatless Booze Cruise at Weeds Tavern (Every Tuesday at 1555 N Dayton!), known as one of the greatest mics near an Apple Store, when I was suddenly attacked.
Maybe attacked isn't the right word. But a van pulled up, masked men and women hopped out and threw me inside.
"Why am I here?" I asked.
"The Dear Leader wants to see you," answered what I think was a woman, because she had on lots of jewelry on her wrists. "He has important news to tell you."
"You mean, ?" I asked. "The editor and founder of The Whiskey Journal? My boss?"
"The one and the same," answered another man, who looked like he probably played college football. "Now, it's best if you shut up."
