In an awesome display of comedy scene synergy, The Whiskey Journal and The Nicest Guys In Town have collaborated with some of the city's best standup comics on a new project: , a news/comedy/talk show hosted by Sean White. White's goofy, laid-back charm and brutal honesty onstage makes him totally qualified for the position of comedy newscaster here in Chicago. 

Cold News runs Saturdays at 10pm through August 3rd at Studio BE, with beverages provided by  (whose continued support of the comedy scene in Chicago is really awesome). To promote tomorrow night's episode, the producers of Cold News sent over this exclusive clip from last week's episode, which features an in-depth report on general current events from correspondent Katie McVay.

Dan Friesen and Daniel Shar present Listin Up

Rarely do the improv and standup worlds interact in such a unique, exciting way as when they collide at , a new, high-concept show at the . Standups improvise sets based off of set lists made up of audience suggestions, and then improvisers draw inspiration from ACTUAL set lists used by the standups during more traditional performances.

The whole thing might sound confusing on paper, so Dan Friesen (The Nicest Guys In Town) and Daniel Shar (), the show's two producers, sent over this quick audio guide, complete with examples of how the night might go!

As host and producer of The Comedy Evening at Ace Bar, , proved himself to be an important asset to the Chicago stand up scene. His hard work and knack for booking strong, varied lineups, has helped make TCE a new scene favorite. Friesen recently launched his new project, The Nicest Guys In Town, with the hopes that it'll become a multimedia hub for online content from Chicago-based comedians.
